Nicolas Hulot
(France)

Honorary president of the Fondation Nicolas Hulot pour la Nature et l’Homme (Foundation for Nature and Mankind) which he established in 1990, Nicolas Hulot has had several functions including Minister for the Ecological and Solidarity Transition (from May 2017 to August 2018), Special Envoy for the French President for the Protection of the Planet as part of the preparations for the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (from 2012 to 2015), journalist and TV producer. His career has been filled with many discoveries across the planet and has shaped his fight for environmentalism and, to a greater extent, for a more humanistic way of approaching the world. For the past 30 years, throughout his action and the work of his Foundation, Nicolas Hulot has sought to bring convergence and unify all participants in society, from citizens to political and economic players, in favour of an ecological transition. As he believes that environmental and social challenges need joint efforts, he participated in the creation of the 'Pacte du Pouvoir de Vivre' (the Power to Live Pact) in March 2019, along with his Foundation and 18 further organisations. Nicolas Hulot has written many books including D'un monde à l'autre (2021), co-written with Frédéric Lenoir, and directed a feature film entitled Le Syndrome du Titanic (2009).
