Eimear McBride grew up in the west of
Ireland. At 17 she moved to London and spent the next
three years studying acting at Drama Centre. At 27 she
wrote her first novel, A Girl is a Half-formed Thing,
and spent most of the next decade moving between the UK
and Ireland while trying to have it published. It was
finally published in June 2013 and was awarded the
inaugural Goldsmiths Prize 2013.
She currently lives in Norwich. |
