Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin  was born in 1942 in Cork. Poet and Emeritus Professor of English in Trinity College, Dublin, where she has taught since 1966, and continues to teach a little since her retirement in 2011. Co-founder with Macdara Woods, Leland Bardwell and Pearse Hutchinson of the literary magazine Cyphers. She is a translator from several languages. Her latest book, The Sun-Fish, was awarded the Canadian Griffin International Prize for poetry in 2010.

Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin est née en 1942 à Cork. Poétesse et professeur émérite de littérature anglaise à Trinity College, à Dublin, depuis 1966, elle continue d’y donner quelques cours depuis sa retraite en 2011. Avec Macdara Woods, Leland Bardwell et Pearse Hutchinson, elle a créé le magazine littéraire Cyphers. Elle traduit également des romans de plusieurs langues vers l'anglais. Sa dernière parution, The Sun-Fish, a reçu le Prix canadien Griffin International de poésie en 2010.
