Sam Millar is a best-selling crime writer and playwright from Belfast whose writing has been praised for its ‘fluency and courage of language’ by Jennifer Johnston. Winner of many awards, including the Brian Moore Award for Short Stories, and the Aisling Award for Art and Culture, he is the author of The Darkness of Bones, The Redemption Factory and Black’s Creek, as well as Bloodstorm, The Dark Place and Dead of Winter, which feature the private investigator Karl Kane. A new edition of his autobiography, On the Brinks, was published in 2014. Millar’s books have been translated into French and German.
