Born in 1964 in Tullamore, Marina Carr is an Irish playwright and lecturer in the School of English at Dublin City University. Author of 20 plays, she is considered one of Ireland’s most prominent playwrights. Her award-winning plays –some of which won the E.M. Forster award and the Susan Smith Blackburn prize, have been produced around the world and translated into many languages. Marina Carr has also held posts as writer-in-residence at Trinity College Dublin and Princeton University. Her adaption of Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina was staged recently at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin.

Dramaturge irlandaise et maître de conférence dans la faculté d’anglais à Dublin City University, Marina Carr est née en 1964 à Tullamore. Au­teur de 20 pièces de théâtre, elle est considérée comme l’un des auteurs dramatiques irlandais les plus reconnus. Ses pièces ont été primées, (notamment la récompense E.M. Forster et le prix Susan Smith Blackburn), jouées dans le monde entier et traduites en plusieurs langues. Marina Carr a également occupé le poste d’écrivain ré­sident à Trinity College Dublin et à Princeton University.
